Use case

Best scheduling and automation tools

Ranking reviewed October 17, 2026. Shelf: Scheduling & automation.

Scheduling a meeting, scheduling a post, and automating an app are three jobs. One numbered list would pretend they compete. They don’t, so this page ranks inside each job.

Short answer

For booking links, use Cal.com. For simple automations between apps, use Zapier. For a more involved visual workflow, use Make. For a general social queue, use Buffer. For a visual feed, use Later. For writing posts on X or LinkedIn, use Typefully. For LinkedIn only, look at Taplio.

Booking

Someone needs to put time on your calendar.

  1. Rank 1: Cal.com

    Open-source booking links

Cal.com is the booking link we recommend: open source, with a hosted product if you don’t want to run it. It is a Calendly-style job. It will not post to Instagram for you.

Best for Letting people book time on your calendar. Check the Cal.com site for current plans and fees. CreatorGoodies does not publish live prices.

App automation

Two or more tools should do a chore without you.

  1. Rank 1: Zapier

When this happens in one app, do that in another

Zapier is the default “when this happens, do that.” The directory is wide and the first automation is easy to understand. Watch task pricing once the workflow runs often or grows extra steps.

Best for Simple automations across many apps. Check the Zapier site for current plans and fees. CreatorGoodies does not publish live prices.

  2. Rank 2: Make

Visual scenarios for more involved automations

Make, formerly Integromat, is the visual builder for scenarios with branches. Choose it when a simple zap starts feeling cramped. Budget time to learn it, and check usage pricing.

Best for Multi-step automations you want to see. Check the Make site for current plans and fees. CreatorGoodies does not publish live prices.

Social scheduling

The post exists. It needs to go out.

  1. Rank 1: Buffer

Schedule social posts from one calendar

Buffer is the general queue: a calendar, several networks, and a product solo creators have used for years. Start here if you want one scheduler and you don’t have a narrower need.

Best for Scheduling posts across social accounts. Check the Buffer site for current plans and fees. CreatorGoodies does not publish live prices.

  2. Rank 2: Later

A visual calendar for social scheduling

Later is the visual calendar, with roots in Instagram planning and support for other networks. Pick it when you need to see the feed before you schedule. Confirm which accounts connect.

Best for Visual planning, especially around Instagram. Check the Later site for current plans and fees. CreatorGoodies does not publish live prices.

  3. Rank 3: Typefully

Write and schedule posts, starting with X and LinkedIn

Typefully is for writing the post, then scheduling it, especially on X and LinkedIn. It has added other text-first networks. It is not a visual grid planner.

Best for Drafting and scheduling text-first posts. Check the Typefully site for current plans and fees. CreatorGoodies does not publish live prices.

  4. Rank 4: Taplio

Writing, scheduling, and analytics for LinkedIn

Taplio stays on LinkedIn: drafting help, scheduling, and analytics for people posting as themselves. Use it when that network is the strategy, not when you need every channel.

Best for Posting on LinkedIn as yourself. Check the Taplio site for current plans and fees. CreatorGoodies does not publish live prices.
